THE MAKING OF MILDRED’S LANE: J. Morgan Puett’s Sketchbook Drawings since 1997

Mildred’s Lane Inc. showcases a selection of J. Morgan Puett’s drawings, schematics, and maps, chronicling 27 years of dreams and schemes in developing Mildred’s Lane, a landscape and environmental art site nestled in the woods of northeastern Pennsylvania. It is a residency program hosting visionary thinkers who are attentive to creative domesticating.

Coming from a family of beekeepers, beeswax has long been an important medium and process in Puett’s work. Each drawing has been drenched in wax as if fossilized, an expression of the transdisciplinary legacy of Mildred’s Lane. Puett’s artwork reflects a dedicated system of thinking about labor and the passage of time.
